Ekpenyong Ntekim Assures All Inclusive Governance

Barrister Ekpenyong Ntekim – a leading Governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom State, has assured the people of Akwa Ibom that he will operate an all inclusive government if given the opportunity to govern the state.

Ntekim, who is from Oron, made the pledge over the weekend at the Oron Civic Centre, where he was consulting the Council of Oro Traditional Rulers (COTR), assuring that if elected, he would govern with an even hand and serve the interest of the Akwa Ibom in its entirety.

His words, “ I want to assure our Ibibio, Annang, Obolo and Ibeno brothers that I don’t intend to be an Oron governor, I want to be the governor of Akwa Ibom State” According to him people should have no fear about the Oron governorship aspiration as the strength of the state as a whole lies in togetherness.

Ekpenyong Ntekim, who is the State’s Attorney-General, while urging members of the Council not to be weary, reiterated his resolve to contest the 2015 governorship election and thanked them for their steadfastness and faith in his emergence as the next governor of the state.

“I am very firm and determined within my heart to contest this election. I am prepared to be the governor of this state with a
deserved capacity and good conscience.  That is why I have come to you my fathers to seek your consent, encouragement, supports and prayers”, he said.

Ofong O. Ekeng, the Clan Head of Idua in Oron Local Government Area, while responding on behalf of  members of  Council who had earlier showered encomiums on Barrister Ntekim, commended him for his decision to enter the 2015 governorship race. The traditional rulers who rose  with one voice in prayers for Barrister Ntekim urged him to remain steadfast as their prayers will open doors of blessing and favour for him wherever he goes.

Ofong Ekeng had explained that they were highly elated by his visit to the Council as it heralded good news. He noted that his decision to vie for the governorship of the state has made them proud fathers from Oron Nation with the assured hope that the emergence of a Governor from Oron extraction will happen in their time.
