Stephen Keshi – coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles has released a list of the much awaited 23-man Super Eagles World Cup squad. Nigerians took to social media to air the disappointments after the 5pm dateline for the release of the list had elapsed. Everyone was desperate to know who and who will fly the nation’s colors in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
Well, after hours of waiting, Keshi sprung a few surprises as he announced his final 23-man squad late on Monday.
Missing on the list are Daniel Akpeyi, Joel Obi, Nosa Igiebor, Sunday Mba, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Ejike Uzoenyi and Obinna Nsofor.
This will be Nigeria’s fifth World Cup participation but Keshi’s team have never made it past the Round of 16.
In Brazil, the Super Eagles will face Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovnia and Argentina in Group F.
