More Groups Partner Enobong Uwah On Campaign

On the heels of the United Nations World Environment Day on June 5, 2014, more groups have joined the Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Environment Hon. Enobong Uwah, on his sensitization campaign, especially in battling issues affecting environment in the state.

The group made the call after a joint meeting held in preparation for ‘Green Walk & Green Talk’ planned to commemorate the World Environment Day on June 5, 2014.

The groups consist of students/youth groups, musicians and media practitioners drawn from different parts of the state.

The students group comprise mainly of students from the Faculty of Environmental Studies Students Association, which happens to be the faculty of the current University of Uyo Student Union Government (SUG) President- Comrade Ndiana Ekong.

Meanwhile musician-Fadabasi, through his Green Akwa Ibom Project has galvanised support from other popular musicians and entertainers to beseech the public to embrace clean and green habits.

Earlier on, Hon. Enobong Uwah had received into his collection a Excellence in Service award from a coalition of media practitioners in the state, championed by Aniekan Ekah, Online PR Consultant & Publisher of Wetinhappen.com.ng

The groups extolled the ideologies of the Prince Uwah, and commended his efforts towards making Uyo a clean, green and beautiful city.

They also assured their participation in the World Environment Day on June 5, 2014, and to assist in continuous spreading of the message to all nooks and crannies of the state through their respective platforms.
