Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Sir (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio (CON) JP, has attributed the related peace experienced in the state to the synergy between the army and the other security outfits.
The Governor made this known when the Commander 13th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Atahiru called on him at Government House, Uyo.
Congratulating Brigadier General Ibrahim Atahiru on his elevation to the rank of General, Governor Akpabio noted the sacrifices of the Army and other security agencies towards maintaining the peace in the State.
He expressed worry over the alarming rate of child abduction in the South-south and urged the Nigerian Army to continue to provide assistance to the police to fish out perpetrators of the act.
The Governor assured the Nigerian Army of continued cooperation of the State Government and lauded them for assisting other security agencies to ensure adequate security in the State.
The Commander 13th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ibrahim Atahiru noted the transformation of Akwa Ibom by the Akpabio administration and pledged the brigade’s readiness to partner with the State for continued economic development.
