The Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Udom Emmanuel advised youths to come together and build a greater Akwa Ibom through positive contributions in order to take the State to a greater height.
He gave the advice during a meeting with youth leaders drawn from the 31 Local Government Areas and Akwa Ibom students from different student bodies including the National Association of Akwa Ibom Students (NAAKIS).
The SSG who met with the two groups separately was accompanied by some members of the State Executive Council.
Addressing the youths, the SSG reiterated the need for them to be united in love and build on the existing infrastructure in the State.

He advised them to develop a positive attitude towards education and study courses that will enable them contribute as well as benefit from the oil and gas sector of the State’s economy.
For the students, Mr. Udom Emmanuel advised them not to gamble with their future but to work hard if they must achieve their set goals.
He commended Governor Godswill Akpabio for the free education policy in the State noting that it has prepared a fertile ground for indigenes in the State to be successful in their future endaevours.
The SSG also noted that the meeting was in the spirit of Christmas to give a sense of belonging to the students.
He advised them to study hard and become useful to themselves and the society.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Monday Ebong Uko advised the youth leaders to work with the present administration to move the State forward.
Some youths and students thanked the State Government for recognizing and partnering with them in the development process of the State.
