The Walya Antelopes refused to take anything for granted ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier as they ordered locals that came to watch them out of the stadium
Ethiopia’s top officials ordered Nigerian fans out of the stadium before they started their final training session on Friday ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles at the U.J.Esuene Stadium Calabar.
The Walya Antelopes have a must win encounter against the Super Eagles on Saturday and they did not want to take their chances after losing the first leg 2-1 in Addis Ababa despite playing a good game.
Minutes before they commenced their practice session at the U.J.Esuene Stadium, the Team Manager of the Ethiopians instructed stern looking policemen to chase the fans out of the stadium while journalists were also made to face similar experience after they had spent the first 15 minutes attending to their job.
No reason was given for such directive but the police carried out the Ethiopians’ orders with impunity and chased away everyone out of the stadium arena.
The East African nation is seeking their first ever World Cup ticket while Nigeria will be attending its fifth if the Walya Antelopes are surmounted.
