Tinsel Star Eric Anderson has declared his intention to represent Calabar Municipal Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly come 2015.
Many learned entertainers are beginning to see their celebrity status offering them a different role in the society. If Eric emerges victorious, he will make history like the musician Tony Oneweek who contested and won a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
Obviously, a higher calling awaits Eric, if he is not just motivated by Cross River Entertainers Forum, but by a burning desire to serve in another capacity.
Eric, the immediate past Chairman of the state Actors Guild is not a stranger in entertainment or politics, going by his family antecedents, his former office, and affiliation with Senators Liyel Imoke & Mma Florence Ita Giwa.
Asides being a flag bearer in Seagul Band during the annual Calabar Carnival, Eric had made history for his immediate constituency (Nollywood) when introduced the monthly jogging exercise to help entertainers in the state keep fit, and when he led a committee to host the first ever Cross River Movie Awards in 2013; an event many described as immeasurable success, having in attendance top Nollywood players and who is who in Cross River.
