Okobo PDP Stakeholder Adopts Ekpeyong Ntekim as Governorship Candidate

Following the endorsement of Barrister Ekpeyong Ntekim, the Akwa Ibom State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, by the Ward and Chapter leadership of the People Democratic Party (PDP), in Okobo Local Government Area of the State, stakeholders and party elders from the Council Area in an enlarged meeting at the residence of Chief Jerry Okpo, in Uyo, the capital city of the state, unanimously adopted and affirmed their support for the candidature and governorship aspiration of Barrister Ntekim in the 2015.

The resolution to adopt Barrister Ntekim as the sole candidate in the forthcoming election was contained in a communiqué issued after the meeting held on June 22, 2014.

Mr. Peter Linus, a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, who was present at the meeting, said the resolve and determination by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, to declare his desire to contest for the governorship of the state, has emboldened most of them to proudly say that Oron nation has a governorship hopeful who stands a better chance come 2015.

On the strength of the 100% affirmation to rally support for Barrister Ntekim, all the stakeholders present tasked themselves to take the message to all the nooks and crannies of the state with a special assignment of a one-on-one engagement with prospective delegates and party faithfuls.

Mr. Kubra Uya, a known political activist in the area showed his promise to support the campaign with a hefty personal donation. A
majority of the stakeholders pledged financial support for the campaign as well while others volunteered to take on any
responsibilities assigned to them for the success of the governorship aspiration of Barrister Ntekim.
