AKWA IBOM 2015: The A, B, E & I Factors

“The causes of events are more interesting than the events themselves. Not to know what has been transacted in former times is to be always a child. If no use is made of labours of past ages, the world must remain always in the infancy of knowledge” ………….. M. Cicero.

It was John Clarke who asserted that history is not everything, but rather a starting point. History as a clock is used by people to ascertain their political and cultural timeline. It is also a compass used to locate the map of human geography. It tells them where they are, but most importantly, what they must be and decisions they have to make.

Admittedly, history does not always tell the entire story of events ahead of the future, but it is always a good place to start permutations. History makes calculable the prediction of future events within a timeline, including all apparent choices made by people.

As the race to the hilltop mansion gathers momentum, it is pertinent for all political stakeholders, proposed delegates and electorates to ask questions and seek in-depth explanations beyond opinions provided by sycophants and paid praise singers, who are not insured in the scheme of things.

Akwa Ibom people should seek to be well vested with political indices of the state and be bold enough to confront nature in a bid to unravel certain mysteries and redefine the political structure of the state ahead of the 2015 Governorship election.

The undefined political puzzle in the state has consistently defied human manipulation and should be considered a top priority. Ignoring this delicate ingredient would amount to committing political suicide or prying into unrewarding gyrations of paid political sycophant in irrelevant groups and corners of the state whose 2015 calculations are based on manual optimism embedded in the support of thuggery and electoral manipulations, which itself is a dicey, turbulent and contradictory permutation brimming with horror and possibility of progress but regrettably of redolent hopes enshrined in benumbing hopelessness.

The most intriguing and frightening political question on the lips of Akwa Ibom people is the historical effect of letters A, B, E and I in the upcoming Gubernatorial election. No wonder providence decided as a pre-requisite to ascend the Hiltop Mansion, that the first or surname of the number one citizen of the state as a matter of no compromise must begin with the letter ‘A’. One wonders if this is based on the fact that our forebears decided to name the state ‘A’kwa ‘A’basi Ibom! Some schools of thoughts believe a political covenant was sealed with the Supreme Being with the letter ‘A” as bait.

Clarence Darrow observed that history repeats itself and also added “that is one of the things wrong with history”.  Akwa Ibom’s political history truly attest to this, in terms of individuals that have democratically governed the state since creation in 1987, beginning from Obong ‘A’kpan Isemin, Obong Victor ‘A’ttah, Chief Godswill ‘A’kpabio, and now the providential romance has found love again in a young, and dynamic politician, Mr. Bassey ‘A’lbert.

Although, hordes of political scientists for some self made reasons rose to counter first Episode of this write up, arguments were anchored on the fact that, providence’s course of action is always based on holy trinity; God the father, Son and The Holy Spirit as they modeled it to represent ‘A’kpan Isemin, Victor ‘A’ttah and Godswill  ‘A’kpabio. Some are also of the opinion that the circle has reached a crescendo with the present political dispensation; hence there will be a paradigm shift.

It is of immense interest to ask what alphabet follows A. With the letter B following A, Mr. ‘B’assey Albert is on the path of rewriting the history of Akwa Ibom state yet again. Away from the historical perspective of his continued political uplift, Mr. Bassey Albert is grossly favoured and accepted by God and the good people of Akwa Ibom State. This is evident in his wide acceptability across the 31 local Government Areas of the state.

The rage of history is captured by the hand of a supreme being (God) with respect to who will occupy the hilltop mansion come 2015. Whether we admit to it or not, historical revelations like this will bring political direction and as well influence the path of victory or how else will one explain the fact that the first civilian Governor of the state came from  ‘E’tinan, after which we had Obong Victor Attah from ‘I’besikpo Asutan and now Godswill Akpabio from ‘E’ssien Udim.

The prediction is simple as nature has a way of balancing permutations, first came E-representing Etinan, we had another E-again to compliment, representing Essien Udim. Ibesikpo Asutan representing ‘I’ is presently complaining bitterly to Akwa Ibom people to also settle her with a twin as the case was for ‘E’tinan and ‘E’ssien Udim. It was for this purpose that God divinely arranged Mr. Bassey Albert’s birth more than fourty years ago in Ididep, ‘I’biono Ibom Local Government Area, his origin has provided an answer to the quest of a twin for ‘I’.

Akwa Ibom people, the signs have been sent from heaven, and we can be rest assured that leadership questions often raised in recent times with respect to the 2015 gubernatorial race has finally gotten an answer in Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan, because the people, history and nature have all spoken in one voice.

God Bless Akwa Ibom
